What are the lunchtime arrangements for Year 7?
Year 7 students have their lunch as a year group, between 12:30pm and 1:00pm. This ensures there is minimal queuing time and that they can eat together in their first year at the academy. The catering provided by the academy operates a “Pay Online” system. Parents can load student accounts from home, or students can add money using finger recognition stations at the academy. We will provide log-on details for parents in due course. Students are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
How is the school uniform organised?
We will provide a full uniform for all Year 7 students. Trutex (uniform supplier) will attend each primary school to measure Year 6 students during June/July. They will deliver the uniform packs the academy for parents to collect before the end of the academic year. There will be 2 uniform ordering/collection days at Outwood Academy Valley, one at the beginning of the summer holiday and one toward the end (dates TBA). You may exchange uniform that does not fit and place further orders at these events. However, we recommend you order extra supplies at the beginning of the holidays to ensure arrival before the start of term. We ask that parents purchase plain black shoes as well as non-marking trainers for PE.
Jewellery, hair and makeup – are there any do’s and don’ts?
No jewellery is allowed, except a wrist watch and a Medic Alert necklace or bracelet. No body piercings, including ear, nose and belly button, are allowed.

Any make-up worn by older students should be very discreet. Students are asked to remove make-up if it is not discreet.
